Do you think it's a sin to be "ethnically jew", but not want to follow the jewish faith? Or that ethnically jewish people can only follow judaism

Let me get this clear first. By ‘ethnically Jewish’ you mean someone who is born Jewish?

If so, then my answer would be that a born-Jew can follow any religion or lifestyle he wants. But he’ll always be a Jew. That is something he simply cannot change. He’s born as one and he’ll die as one.

Now, the fact he can live any kind of life he wants, doesn’t mean it’s right. It doesn’t mean it’s the ‘right thing’ for a Jew to live a secular, a Christian, Muslim, or whatever, life.

A Jew is born in the covenant our forefathers made with G-d. We were given the Torah, and that’s how we should live. ‘Jew’ is our identity. The Torah is our lifestyle. There is nothing, and no one, that can change this.
